HARRISBURG—The daughter of an appellate court judge was transported by ambulance last Friday morning after what witnesses are saying was an apparent drug overdose.
However, no one’s talking about what possible drug Christy Stewart, 25, daughter of Judge Bruce Stewart (an appellate judge in Mt. Vernon, Ill.), it was that she may have ingested thus leading to the alleged overdose.
What’s known about the case is that an ambulance was called to a residence in the 300 block of East Locust Street in Harrisburg early last Friday morning (about 9 a.m. May 31, 2013). Present at the house was reported to have been former Judge/state’s attorney David Nelson’s son, Jesse, who has reportedly been hanging out with Christy of late. Sources indicate that the two were reportedly involved in an argument that lead to a medical condition on Stewart’s part, exacerbated by ingestion of whatever drug it may have been in her system at the time. It all combined to create a sort of “seizure,” which necessitated the calling of an ambulance for the girl after she became unresponsive.
Christy Stewart is reported currently employed in some facet of Rep. Brandon Phelps’ office. She previously was employed at the Harrisburg paper (or what’s left of it), but was let go last November after she was “found asleep on the floor at the election returns in the courthouse.”
Her current condition is unknown at this time. However, our sources in Harrisburg have advised that her family has gone out-of-county as of today in order to find a judge who will hear an Order of Protection case for them in an effort to keep Jesse Nelson away from Christy Stewart. More on that potentially in the print version, which you can pick up at Harrisburg vendors next Tuesday, or read here online by getting a membership to the e-Edition.
