WABASH CO.—An incident that started off as a reported argument ended with a man hospitalized after “falling off the hood” of a vehicle.
Local media has it that Martin S. Tennes, 49, “suffered a serious head injury” Friday night (8:19 p.m. May 31, 2013) at 9522 North 1440 Blvd, Mt. Carmel (the Maud area of Wabash County) “after falling off the hood of a vehicle.”
However, that’s the extremely short version of it…and only part of it, at that.
Our sources, both official and unofficial, in Wabash have confirmed that the “falling off a hood” came after Tennes and his wife (whose name we haven’t learned yet) were arguing. Mrs. Tennes tried to leave in the car. Mr. Tennes then jumped on the car, but somehow (undoubtedly when the car was put in gear and began moving), he was flung from it and landed hard, experiencing a rather serious head injury.
He was taken to Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, and subsequently airlifted to an Evansville hospital. Wabash officials have confirmed that as of today, he’s in very serious but stable condition.
The location of this incident wasn’t very far from the spot where, a couple of hours later, a single-vehicle accident tragically took the life of a local man, Phillip Pixley.
As far as we can ascertain, Mr. Tennes happened to currently be out on bond on a recent Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm charge in Wabash County. This follows several similar charges, each having been dismissed, in the past.
There have been no citations issued to either party in the incident.
