WAYNE CO.—A reader reports that he and some others assisted a driver after they observed what appeared to be a freak accident on U.S. 45 south of Fairfield.
According to our reader, the accident, which happened at around 11:30 a.m. today (Monday, June 3, 2013) about two miles south of town on 45, occurred when a car left the roadway, hit a culvert, flipped in mid-air, and landed upside down.
Our reader and his boss were present and assisted the driver, a male, out of the car, which was reportedly leaking gas.
Our reader praised the ambulance service that responded to the wreck, telling us they showed up in less than 10 minutes.
The driver seemed to be doing okay, our reader said, and was talking to responders when he was being loaded into the ambulance for transport to Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
More as we get it; keep checking back.
