Grayville Police Officer Sergeant Jess Burley and his K-9 Officer Tara assisted at the scene.

Nicholson was arrested and charged with Possession of Cannabis (more than 30 grams, but less than 500 grams), a Class 3 Felony, and DUI – Drugs, a Class A Misdemeanor.  In addition, Nicholson was issued a citation for Speeding. Nicholson was transported to the White County Jail in Carmi, Illinois, where he was held pending a court appearance.

Captain Fraser stated, “As we have seen so often before, aggressive enforcement of a traffic violation, speeding in this instance, has resulted in the removal of drugs from our highways. District 19 Troopers will continue to make it a priority to focus on traffic enforcement, as well as other efforts to rid our highways and communities of illegal drugs and impaired drivers.”
