CLARK CO.—It appears a meth couple have so little regard for the life of a child that they would participate in a domestic altercation while driving down the road with said child in the vehicle to the point somebody called the police.

Victoria J. Gradel, 24, of 624 Gilbert Ave. Apt. 2, Terre Haute, Ind. and William C. A. Reed, 28, of 9608 Old Lincoln Trail, Fairview, have both been charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.

On October 3, authorities allege that Ms. Gradel and Mr. Reed possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine.

On the same day authorities alleged the pair willfully caused Jane Doe ,a four-year-old female child’s, life or health to be endangered when both Gradel and Reed engaged in a physical altercation while Reed was driving a motor vehicle on Interstate 70 where Jane Doe was a passenger in said vehicle.

Gradel and Reed were arrested and booked into the county jail on $2,000 cash bond.

As of press time both of them still remained in custody.

Pilfering pills from patients

Julie A. Mantel, 36, 114 Maple Street Apt. 1C, Marshall has been charged with three counts of Unlawful Acquisition of Controlled Substance.

Authorities allege that count one and two took place on September 22, while Ms. Mantel was employed as a nurse providing care for Jane Doe #1 when she allegedly acquired possession of a substance containing hydrocodone, by deception, in which Mantel took hydrocodone that was prescribed for Jane Doe #1.

The third count alleges that Ms. Mantel took hydrocodone that was prescribed to a Jane Doe #2.

It is unclear if Ms. M has been taken into custody and what her charges are but has a first appearance set for Oct. 31.
