Norris City women die in two-vehicle crash, White County

WHITE CO., Ill. - Another car crash on Illinois Route 141 has lead to fatalities in White County.

Illinois State Police have advised that the crash last night (Monday, April 22) happened at 10:17 p.m. on 141, just east of the Little Wabash River Bridge.

According to ISP's preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of a white 2008 GMC Yukon, Robbie W. Darnell, 41 of Equality, and the driver of a gold 2008 Honda Accord, Judith A. Egan, 67 of Norris City, were involved in a head-on collision in the westbound lane of Illinois Route 141, just east of the Little Wabash River Bridge.

Following the impact, both vehicles left the roadway. Judith A. Egan, along with her passenger Michelle R. Egan, 40 and also of Norris City, were both pronounced deceased at the traffic crash scene.

Darnell was transported to a regional hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

An Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit Officer has joined the traffic crash investigation. In addition, the White County Sheriff’s Department, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Ridgway Police Department, New Haven Fire Department, Ridgway Fire Department, White County Ambulance Service, Deaconess Ambulance Service, White County Coroner’s Office, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Cherry Street Automotive, and Don’s Bumper- to-Bumper assisted ISP at the crash scene.

Darnell was cited for No Valid Driver’s License, Improper Lane Usage, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
