CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - A Robinson man who was accused more than a year ago of sexual assault on a child has been sentenced as of yesterday, Monday, April 22, 2019.
Charged with a single count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a victim under the age of 13 dating back to February 2018, Alfred O. Waldrop, 56, was found guilty in an early-March jury trial in Crawford County.
Yesterday he was sentenced to 25 years in Illinois Department of Corrections.
While that figure is symbolic (no one in Illinois ever serves the actual number of years in any stated sentencings), Waldrop will likely have to serve at least 85 percent of that.
