CARMI, Ill. - A Carmi man found out that speeding through town is a bad idea, but a worse idea is doing so without being properly insured.
This is what Jordan L. Prater, 26, found out the hard way Tuesday afternoon, April 2, when at 5:49 p.m., he was the subject of a traffic stop on College Drive at Industrial Drive for speeding 40 mph or more over the posted limit.
When the arresting officer checked Prater's papers, it ws discovered that he was Operating Uninsured, so he was taken into custody, cited, mugshot, and was able to post bond to secure his release.
