March enforcement campaign on dangerous and impaired driving

POSEY CO., Ind. - Two individuals from Illinois - one from Marion, one from Norris City - were among three caught up in this weekend's sobriety checkpoint detail in Posey County, Indiana, as Indiana State Police reports.
On Friday, March 15, between 10:00 and midnight, Indiana State Police participated in Operation Pull Over and conducted a sobriety checkpoint on SR 62 at Owen Street in Mt. Vernon. During the two-hour period, 72 vehicles passed through the checkpoint resulting in three drivers being arrested for driving while intoxicated. Troopers also made five arrests for possession of marijuana.

- Driving While Intoxicated – Refusal (Controlled Substance), Class C Misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
- Logan G. Ellison, 20, Norris City, Ill.
- Driving While Intoxicated (Controlled Substance), Class C Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
- Terah K. Carlton, 20, Marion, Ill.
- Driving While Intoxicated (Controlled Substance), Class C Misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
