Another ‘whoops!’ for work-release; authorities seeking escapee

Kelsi R. Harrison

WHITE CO., Ill. - Downstate Illinois counties are definitely having a work-release-escapee problem.

No long after two convicted crims were apprehended by White County authorities (you can read about this at the hotlink above as well as here), those two having escaped from IDOC work-release, another has been reported having escaped, this late this past week.

The White County Sheriff’s Office is now asking for the public’s help in locating Kelsi R. Harrison, 25. Harrison is reported to have removed her ankle monitoring device on Friday, March 8 and failed to return to a work release program.

She is described as a 5-foot-4 and 216 pounds, and she is believed to be in the Monticello area (Piatt County, up in the central part of the state).

There has been no indication of whose custody or care she was under while on work-release; since White County is asking for the public's help, it would stand to reason that she was serving some kind of sentence there, but unless she's going by another name on judici or other documents, there's no record of what her conviction was that got her on work-release to begin with. The same holds true for all counties around Carmi, as well as Piatt County.

Whatever the case, anyone with information should contact the White County Sheriff’s Office in Carmi.
