WHITE CO., Ill. - Lately, the national news has been running pieces on the resurgence of meth in the country, as meth heads don't seem to be inclined to use Mexican meth due to the unpredictable content of it...like that would make a difference in the poison.
However, recent arrests in our coverage area seem to indicate that meth production and delivery are indeed again on the rise. Witness this info from White County Sheriff Doug Maier.
Maier said that on Friday, February 22, his department arrested Lyle D. Dodd, 34, on a White County warrant for Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine.
Dodd, Maier said, was located and taken into custody at his residence, on the 200 block of Brockett Street in the village of Enfield in north White County.
Dodd was jailed in White on a $7,500 cash bond and he remains incarcerated as of today (Monday, Feb. 25).
Maier said that the arrest was the result of an investigation by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, the White County Sheriff's Office and the Carmi City Police Department. There are further arrests anticipated, the sheriff noted.
Meth arrests last week include a former White County Community Service Coordinator, Michael Wayne French, and Dustin Bell; hit the hotlinks to read about the busts.
