LAWRENCE CO., Ill. - Bad drivers abounded this past week, and one in Lawrence County Saturday night was no exception....and it's alleged that alcohol was a factor.
That'd be the case with Carla Plummer, 54 of Claremont, who was behind the wheel on February 23 while traveling on Highway 50 between Sumner and Bridgeport, and drove off the road and into some trees in the vicinity of Kings Hill Road, just west of Bridgeport.
There was a passenger in the vehicle with Plummer, who was not named in police reports but was uninjured and uncharged.
Plummer, however, was both injured AND charged; apparently her injuries weren't serious, as she was taken to Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. She was later cited with DUI. Interestingly, Plummer is currently out on bond from a 2018 felony case in Lawrence from when she was residing in Bridgeport, so the matter probably won't be taken lightly. Be watching for updates.
