WHITE CO., Ill. - White County Sheriff Doug Maier has advised of the arrest of a Carmi man, which Maier says is the result of a lengthy investigation into the guy's doings.
Maier said that a detail conducted by his office, the Carmi Police Department and Southern Illinois Drug Task Force resulted in the arrest of Michael Wayne French, 48.
Officers located French at his residence on the 400 block of Rice Street in Carmi yesterday (Thursday, February 21) at 9:37 a.m. French was arrested without incident on a warrant issued earlier in the day for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Police reports indicate that officers viewed a set of weighing scales with white powder reside inside the residence, which prompted officers to request a search warrant for the location. Maier said that several drug-related items and an amount of meth were located, and additional charges are pending.
French is being held at the White County Jail on a $150,000 bail ($15,000 cash bond.)
