Traffic and petty crimes take up Flora PD’s time

FLORA, Ill. - Flora Police Department had a break from major crime activity this past week, contending with mostly traffic citations and petty infractions in the city.

Chief Guye Durre releases the following information:

On Monday February 11, 2019 at 8:26 am Flora Police investigated an accident at 200 Given Dr. involving a 2007 Jeep driven by Justin R. Krutsinger, 32 of Xenia. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.

On Tuesday February 12, 2019 at 3:57 am Flora Police arrested Krista M. Mitchell, 32 of Flora on an outstanding Clay County Warrant for Assault/Domestic Battery. Mitchell was able to post bond and was released with a court date.

On Wednesday February 13, 2019 at 12:18 pm Flora Police investigated an accident at the corner of W. North Ave and N. Elm St involving a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Sandy J. Beard, 49 of Flora and a 2006 Ford F150 driven by Mark A. Bible, 58 of Xenia. There were no
injuries and no citations were issued.

On Thursday February 14, 2019 at 2:27 pm Flora Police arrested Tara B. Szarek, 26 of Flora for Retail Theft this was following an investigation at Wal-Mart in Flora. Szarek underwent booking procedures at the Flora Police Department and was released with a court date.

Topper Eastin

On Friday February 15, 2019 at 9:02 pm Flora Police investigated a 3 vehicle accident at the corner of N State and Given St involving a 2005 Ford Sedan driving by Carson N. Perry, 18 of Flora, a 2000 Toyota Pickup driven by Topper E. Eastin, 36 of Flora and a 2016 Dodge Van driven by Kimberly B. Files, 30 of Flora. There were no injuries and Perry was cited for Failure to Yield Turning Left.

On Monday February 18, 2019 at 6:47 pm Flora Police issued Wade M. Saatkamp, 28 of Flora citation for Suspended Vehicle Registration after a traffic stop in the 100 block of W South Ave.

On Monday February 18, 2019 at 9:09 am Flora Police investigated an accident at 20 Industrial Park involving an unknown driver and a parked vehicle which belongs to John R. Forth of Flora.
