WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - When the site was down yesterday (Wednesday, December 12), we received press information about the situation involving Devin O'Daniell, the Marion man accused in the death of his infant son Claude a couple of weeks back.
The press release reads as follows:
The investigation into the death of a Marion infant is still ongoing, but new charges have currently been added against Devin O’Daniell in this matter.
On December 12, 2018, Devin A. O’Daniell was charged with the offense of first degree murder under 720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(2).
The State’s Attorney’s Office is still awaiting official medical records from St. Louis. Once those are received and reviewed, other charges will be considered at that time.
O’Daniell is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
We have since learned that interestingly enough, when O'Daniell was beaten after he was jailed shortly after the report of the infant's battery, the security cameras "weren't working," therefore there's no evidence as to the jail incident...which will not bode well for the county, should O'Daniell manage to get himself a hotshot attorney who'll make mincemeant out of the situation.
When we learn more, we'll post.
