Mt. Carmel Police Department activity, first week of December 2018

MT. CARMEL, Ill. - The Mt. Carmel Police Department activity report has now been made available, and covers December 3 through the 7th, 2018.

On December 3, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Tyler L. Wade, 25 of Mt. Carmel, after police were notified that he was on the property of 1230 N. Walnut Street after being told to stay off the property.  Police located Wade in the 1000 block of Poplar Street and placed him under arrest. Police transported Wade to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with criminal trespass to State supported property. Wade was held pending the posting of $150.00 cash bond.

Also on the 3rd, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jeffery S. Parrish, 46 of Mt. Carmel, after police found him at his residence in the 200 block of E. 13th Street. Police knew that Parrish was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant and placed him under arrest. Parrish was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond. 

On Dec. 5, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Parrish again after police observed him operating a motor vehicle in the area of 13th and Mulberry Street. Police knew Parrish was operating the motor vehicle on a suspended driver's license and initiated a vehicle stop. Parrish was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

Vincente Melchor-Nabor

On Dec. 6, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Vicente Melchor-Nabor, 29 of Mt. Carmel, after police were called to a residence in the 200 block of W. 5th Street reference a domestic. Police were told that Melchor-Nabor placed his hands on his girlfriend and choked her. Police arrested Melchor-Nabor and charged him with one count of aggravated domestic battery. Melchor-Nabor was held at the Wabash County Jail pending the setting and posting of bond.

Also on the 6th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Joshua L. Sloat, 31 of Albion, after he was stopped by Mt. Carmel Police. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Sloat was driving on a suspended driver's license. Sloat was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Sloat was released from jail without posting bond after it was believed he swallowed narcotics during the traffic stop. Sloat was transported to Wabash General Hospital for care. The condition of Sloat was unknown at the time of this press release. This case is still under investigation and further charges could be filed.

On Dec. 7, Mt. Carmel Police arrested two subjects for criminal trespass to a residence. Police received information that Carl P. Pierce and Casey L. Taylor, both 31, were inside a residence at 318 Chestnut Street without the owner’s permission. Police located the two subjects and placed them under arrest.  Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and are being held pending the posting of bond.

Also on the 7th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jason B. Seibert, 47, on an Illinois Department of Correction warrant. Police knew Seibert was staying at the Town and Country Motel and went to his room only to find it empty. Police would later finding him hiding underneath a bridge in the area of 3rd and Oak Street. Seibert was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond

And lastly on the 7th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Cameron B.S. Brown, 29 of Mt. Carmel, after the arresting officer observed him walking in the area of 9th and Market Street. The arresting officer knew Brown was wanted on a Wabash County warrant charging him with violation of conditional discharge. Brown was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $500.00.
