CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - The body of a man found at the city park in Oblong has been identified by authorities in Crawford County.
Crawford County Coroner Earl Deckard said that the body was that of Charles Mick, Jr. 40.
The autopsy held yesterday in Terre Haute, Ind., showed that Mick died of an apparent suicide, although no information has been released on the cause of death.
Mick's body, it was reported at this link, was in the Oblong park yesterday morning (Monday, November 26) at 1:36 a.m. Deckard reported yesterday that Mick had been the subject of a search by police in the hours leading up to the discovery of the suicide.
The Oblong Police Department, Crawford County Sheriffs Office, Illinois State Police, and the Crawford County Coroner’s Office handled the investigation.
