CARMI, Ill. - A number of White County's frequent flyers have made it again to the police blotter in Carmi.
The first came about Saturday morning (November 24), when at 10:48 a.m., a warrant arrest was effected on the 800 block of Smith Street.
The warrant was for one Matthew B. Lemond, 22, of Carmi, but it was a Wayne County warrant as opposed to a White County warrant, the Wayne warrant being for Failure to Appear on a 2017 charge there.
Lemond compounded his troubles, however, when police reported that he fled into the residence where he was spotted by the officer on Smith Street at Eighth.
Lemond was charged with Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and lodged at the city/county jail.
On Sunday morning, November 25, at 10:15 a.m., another frequent flyer, Crystal M. Boaz, 37, of Carmi, was arrested near a residence on the 600 block of Stewart Street. She, too, had an out-of-county warrant - this one Richland County, dating back to 2015 - and she too was lodged in the city/county jail, where she remained as of today (Monday, Nov. 26).
Lastly, an Enfield guy who's caused a lot of problems for authorities over the years, Lige K. Cheek, 45, was arrested Sunday morning at 11:31 a.m. at Dollar General in Carmi.
The initial call was one of Retail Theft, but when Cheek was taken into custody, he ended up being also charged with Possession of Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He, like Boaz, remained locked up as of this evening.
