SALINE CO., Ill - Another shooting incident has occurred in Harrisburg, but this one has had a significantly different outcome than many of the previous ones.
Harrisburg Police Chief David Morris said that at approximately 1:26 a.m. this morning (Saturday, November 3, 2018), Harrisburg Police received multiple calls of shots fired in the 00 block of W Towle Street (hit this link to see other criminal activity in this area of town over the past several years, including shootings). Upon investigation, a vehicle was located in the 600 block of N. Webster Street with multiple bullet holes.
After speaking with the victim, a vehicle description was given to surrounding agencies in Saline County. Shortly after a vehicle description was given, Eldorado Police Department located a vehicle matching said description.
Eldorado Police Department was able to stop the vehicle and detain both occupants. After further investigation, Harrisburg Police took Cameron T. Williams and Otis J. Rankin, Jr., into custody. Williams and Rankin are being charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
The Harrisburg Police Department was assisted by the Eldorado Police Department, the Saline County Sheriff's Department, and the Illinois State Police.
