Busy end of September-early October for Clay County Sheriff’s Department

CLAY CO., Ill. - Here's your Clay County Sheriff's Department report for the last few days of September not covered by last week's report, as well as for the early part of October, courtesy Sheriff Andy Myers.

Sept. 28, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Charles S. Schnepper, 25, Clay City, for Domestic Battery. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

Sept. 29, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Bradley Caudle, 30, Fairfield on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver's License  Suspended. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrnt fee. He posted bond and was released.

Sept. 30, Damon Elmore, 23, Olney, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Burglary. Bond set at $4,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He appeared in Clay County court and was released.

Oct. 1, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Brayden Hubble, 18, Robinson, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Domestic Battery. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent). He posted bond and was released.

Oct. 3, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Kenneth A. Mack, 45, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Violation of Order of Protection. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

Oct. 3, Brady M. Carroll, 26, Effingham, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. Bond set at $4,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. Carroll appeared in Clay County court and was released. 

Oct. 4, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Jay Clasper, 42, Kinmundy, for Driving While Driver's License Revoked. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.

Oct. 5, Cara Vaught, 39, Fairfield, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.

Oct. 5, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 8:50 a.m. east of the intersection of Kinmundy Road and Piglet Road. Apparently Patrick O'Leary, 58, Kinmundy, operating a 2011 Chevrolet pick up truck was travelling east on the Kinmundy Road, slowed to turn and was struck by another eastbound vehicle, operated by Charlene Britton, 62, operating a 2009 Ford. No injuries reported.

Oct. 6, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 11:00 a.m. on the Sailor Springs Road at a private drive. Apparently Frederick Harris, 68, Clay City, operating a 1999 International Tractor pulled from a private drive onto the Sailor Springs Road and failed to see a 2002 International Tractor operated by Teddy Young, 49, Louisville, striking the trailer Young was pulling. No injuries reported.

Oct. 7, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 6:18 p.m. north of the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and North State Road. Apparently Robert M. Payne, 32, Flora, operating a 1997 Ford pick up truck was travelling south on U.S. Hwy 45 and attempted to pass an unknown vehicle and struck a 2002 Chevrolet pick up operated by Brian Hamende, Johnsonville, who was travelling north. No injuries reported. Payne was cited for Improper Overtaking on the Left and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. He was given a Notice to Appear in Clay County Court.

Oct. 9, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Jamie Branom, 38, Xenia, for Violation of Probation on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

Oct. 11, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Joshua Sullens, 35, Clay City, for Residential Burglary. Bond set at $15,000.00 (10 percent). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

Oct. 11, Shawn Wille, 24, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Liquor. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He appeared in Clay County court and was released.

Oct. 11, Nicole Dulaney, 31, Kinmundy, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

Oct. 12, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male on an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody and is being housed at a juvenile facilty.
