CARMI, Ill. - A stop at Pundrake Gas and Convenience store in Carmi early this morning (shortly after midnight, which is still largely considered late-night) got a Carmi woman served with a Saline County warrant for her arrest.
And of course, things just went downhill from there.
Carmi officials said that at 18 minutes after midnight this morning (Thursday, October 4), Jessica A. Risley, 21, reporting an address on the 400 block of East Street in Carmi, was arrested on a Saline County warrant for Failure to Appear. It appears, according to online records, that the FTA is over a traffic citation, to which Risley pled guilty recently - Improper Lane Usage - and apparently she missed a pay-or-appear date on September 28, so the warrant was issued.
Risley received the citation back in June; apparently at that time she was reporting an address in Harrisburg, so it's unclear where, exactly, she's legitimately residing.
Whatever the case, she was taken to the county jail and following a search of her person and possessions, she was slapped with another count: Possession of Meth.
She remains in county lockup in Carmi, awaiting a court date.
