Mayoral candidate picks up packet at Marion City Hall

MARION, Ill. - Andrew Ball of Marion picked up his Petition Packet today (October 4, 2018) as a candidate for mayor of the city of Marion for the 2019 Consolidated Election, to be held April 2, 2019.

Ball is one of four who have announced their interest.

Ball says he’s all about families and says if you are working for your family, who are you working for. He would like to see property taxes restructured and industry brought in that would pay decent wages. 

The othes three contenders are acting mayor Anthony Rinella, current councilman Angelo Hightower and Marion businessman Mike Absher.

Packets have been available since September 18 and must be turned in to the city clerk's office starting December 10, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. and no later than December 17, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

All four city council seats are to be filled as well as the mayor's position .
