WHITE CO., Ill. - A local young man has been sentenced in a child sex crime-related case.
Jedidiah M. Johnson, 25, Carmi, had previously pled guilty in May to five counts of Child Pornography, each a Class 1 felony.
During the sentencing hearing today (Wednesday, October 3), Aud called one witness on behalf of the State. Public Defender Rhonda Blades called one witness on behalf of the defendant.
Following arguments as to sentencing alternatives by Aud and Blades, the judge in the case sentenced Johnson to 7 years on each count of Child Pornography with each sentence to run consecutively to one another; consequently, Johnson was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Carmi Police Department was the investigating agency.
Others were sentenced today in White County as well.
The chick whose arrest the other day prompted several eyebrows to shoot skyward, Starlett R. Dunn, 35, Carmi, has had her recent misdeeds addressed in short order.

Dunn entered a plea today of the charge that got her hemmed up last week, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, a Class 2 felony: 3 years in IDOC to be followed by 2 years of parole.
Dunn was arrested on this charge while on a furlough before having to report to serve her sentence in Illinois Department of Corrections on a separate Theft charge. Consequently, the sentence on the new offense will be served consecutive to the previously-entered sentence, which means that she will have to complete her first sentence before serving the second sentence. Carmi Police Department was the investigating agency.
Another sentence was handed down today: That of Ramon S. Lujan, 38, who was sentenced on two counts: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony, and Theft, a Class 4 felony.

He’ll serve 2 years in IDOC on each count, to be followed by a year of parole.
Lujan’s offenses were in the same case with the sentences be served concurrently. Carmi Police Department was the arresting agency in his case.
