CLARK CO., Ill. - A single-vehicle wreck last night on U.S. 40 sent a Casey woman to Carle Hospital in Champaign, and resulted in multiple citations for her in the interim after the "overcorrection" accident.
Illinois State Police in District 12 Effingham advise that the crash occurred at 5:16 p.m. last night, Tuesday, October 2.
Preliminary investigative details indicate that a 1998 red Ford Mustang being driven by Justa Naomi Shinn, 29, of Casey, was westbound on 40 just west of 1000E, about three miles east of Martinsville).
A witness driving eastbound at the same location stated that the Mustang began to cross the center line before overcorrecting to the right and leaving the roadway that direction.
The Mustang entered the north side ditch of the roadway, rolling over multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels facing east in the north ditch.
Shinn was ejected from the vehicle in the rollover; she was transported by helicopter to Carle Hospital in Champaign for treatment of unspecified injuries.
She has been cited for No Valid Driver's License, Improper Lane Usage, and Failure to Wear Seatbelt.
