ST. CLAIR CO., Ill. (ECWd) – Alorton, Illinois, Mayor Jo Ann Reed, the same person who was ousted as Mayor several years ago after felony conviction, who is currently charged with buying votes in the last Mayoral election, who also commandeered a city police vehicle for her personal use after being elected to Mayor again, and even displays the handicap placard of her deceased father from its mirror, was allegedly spotted using the police vehicle’s spotlight and activating the police lights of the vehicle on a state highway.
She was alleged to have used the spotlight and activated the red and blue lights of the police vehicle on I-64 eastbound at Illinois 157.
The 911 call (audio at this link) and radio transmissions indicate the vehicle had “Mayor Jo Ann Reed” on the side of it.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident as she had allegedly left the scene before police arrived.
