MARION, Ill. – Another successful Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit bust has taken an alleged ice dealer out of circulation for a little while.

This bust occurred last week (Thursday, September 13) when the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit (MPDNU) initiated an investigation after receiving a complaint that drug sales were occurring in a specific apartment at the Motel Marion, located in the 2100 block of W. Main Street.

The target of the investigation was identified as Carl W. Boyce, 35. A detective for MPDNU acting in an undercover capacity later met with Boyce at the mentioned residence and conducted a controlled drug purchase of cannabis.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained and executed on Monday of this week (Sept. 17). During a search of the residence, detectives located crystal “ice” methamphetamine, cannabis, prescription medication, packaging materials and weighing equipment.

Carl Boyce was issued citations for Delivery of Cannabis, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis with the Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Boyce was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail awaiting his first appearance in court.
