CLARK CO., Ill. - A lizardly critter was making all kinds of waves up in Clark County today, and even has the sheriff's department asking, effectively, "Who owns this lil guy?"
Because he's obviously not indigenous.
Behold, the critter:
And here's what the CCSO is saying about it on their Fecesbook page:
We can't make this up! A resident notified us of this animal sunbathing on the highway. As a matter of safety we took "Puff The Magic Dragon" into protective custody. We don't believe this critter to be native to Clark County . Obviously someone has lost what could be their pet. We're playing real life Pokemon GO with this cutey. Let's find his home, for 2500 Pokemon points. 🤔
If you are the owner of this lizardly critter (which we've tentatively identified as a horned toad lizard, which are common pets...full disclosure, a cousin had one as a child and that's how we know), you can contact CCSO at their page or, if you're like us and have dumped your Fecesbook page, do the old-fashioned thing and call them at 217-826-6393.
And don't forget (because apparently the word is slow getting out, since we didn't take it to our now-defunct Fecesbook page) - We're no longer producing the print version, so you won't be getting anymore copies in the mail. We will be refunding all print subscribers over the next several months, so watch the mail for your refund....and use it to subscribe to our online version, which is in the process of getting reworked and will be rolling out very soon!
