Two sentenced in White County court Monday

WHITE CO., Ill. - White County State's Attorney Denton Aud said that two men with pending sentencing were issued those sentences today, Monday, August 13.

Aud said that Kevin Yokel, 37, of Bellmont in Wabash County, was sentenced in his Driving While License Revoked (4 to 9 times), the qualifiers of which makes it a a Class 4 felony. Yokel was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department.

Yokel received two years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole; he must also pay court costs. Yokel’s case was decided by way of a plea agreement that was accepted by the court.

Robert Steven McGill

Then Robert Steven McGill, 36, of Carmi, was sentenced in his Retail Theft count, which is also a Class 4 felony. McGill received a sentence of four years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole upon release. Court costs and restitution were ordered.

McGill was sentenced by Judge T. Scott Webb at the conclusion of a sentencing hearing following arguments as to sentencing alternatives. McGill's case was investigated by the Carmi Police Department.
