WHITE CO., Ill. - Two individuals were transported to an area hospital this afternoon after the Peterbilt truck they were in went off the road on Highway 45 north of Gossett Road in White County.
Illinois State Police said the single-vehicle accident occurred at 3:17 p.m. today, Monday, August 6.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, John Hansbrough, 37, of Morganfield, Kentucky, was driving a 1988 Peterbilt truck with flatbed trailer, which was traveling southbound on US 45 approximately one-half mile north of Gossett Road. With Hansbrough was Stephanie Nation, 37, of Shawneetown.
For unknown reasons, the truck crossed the center line and went off the east side of the roadway, crashing into some trees.
Both Hansbrough and Nation were transported by Life Flight to a local area hospital.
No citations have been issued, as the wreck is currently under investigation.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by White Co. and Transcare Ambulance Services, Life Flight, Omaha and Norris City Fire Departments, Rick’s Towing, and IDOT.
