PALESTINE, Ill. - Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing is investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. yesterday, August 2 and 11:00 a.m. today, August 3, in the 600 block of W. Market Street.

Chief Besing reports that sometime during the above listed time periods, an unknown vehicle side-swiped a 1999 silver Pontiac Bonneville on the passenger side of the car, breaking off the passenger door mirror and creasing both passenger side doors. There is dark-colored scuff paint transfer to the Pontiac Bonneville.

The hit-and-run suspect vehicle will more than likely have damage to their front passenger bumper/fender.

Anyone having information concerning this accident is being asked to contact Chief Jeff Besing at the Palestine Police Department or by calling dispatch at 618-546-1515.
