CHESTER, Ill. - Our staff foodie Becky has been on the road again, and this time, she traveled all the way over to the west side of the state to visit one of the most prominent smorgasbord restaurants around. Here's her report.

A great place to take your appetite and enjoy a nice scenic drive is Reid’s Harvest House in Chester, Illinois.
Reid's grand buffet has deliciously simple food to satisfy the pickiest eaters. There is so much food there's no way you could possibly sample everything in one trip.
Your drinks and homemade yeast rolls are brought to your table; everything else you help yourself.
The smorgasbord is open every day except Monday for lunch and dinner. It’s been a few years since I’ve been on Friday night for the seafood buffet, but to my recollection, it was very good.
For those of you in the southeastern part of the state who might not know where Chester is, head west on Illinois 13 and go as far as you can go to Illinois 3, then take a right (my GPS now calls Rt. 3 "Great River Road," just fyi.)
