MARION, Ill. - On July 12, 2018 the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit (MPDNU) executed a search warrant in the 900 block of S. Aikman Street. A tactical entry was conducted with the assistance of the Marion Police Department Emergency Response Team.

The investigation identified Tristin L. Bradford, 19, as a distributor of cocaine. A search of the residence revealed additional weighing equipment, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia and United States Currency.

Also arrested during the incident was Trisha J. Berry, 38. Berry was issued a citation for Drug Paraphernalia. Bradford and Berry were both conveyed to the Williamson County jail awaiting future court proceedings.

A couple of days earlier, July 9, the MPDNU conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of N. Court Street. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Brian M. Smith, 22. During the traffic stop the odor of cannabis was detected. A search of the vehicle was conducted and revealed crystal “ice” methamphetamine, approximately a quarter pound of cannabis, weighing equipment and syringes.

Smith was issued citations for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cannabis. Smith was also arrested on an unrelated Marion Police Department case that also included the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cannabis, stemming from a March 2018 incident. A juvenile passenger was also cited for Possession of Cannabis.

Smith was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail for confinement. The unnamed juvenile was released into the custody of a guardian.
