PALESTINE, Ill. - Some people may tend to think that being in possession of a pair of brass knuckles is no big deal...but in Illinois, it is.

And that's what a young guy from Olney found out this past Thursday night when a "suspicious activity" call got him searched, and just such a thing found.

Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing said that his city officer, Brandon Carpenter, arrested the young Olney resident for Unlawful Use/Possession of a Weapon after being called about two suspicious persons at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Casey's General Store.

Upon his arrival, he made contact with the two male subjects who were asking customers for a ride to Robinson.

Upon checking these subjects for warrants, Officer Carpenter asked for permission to search which was granted. One of the subjects was found to be in possession of brass knuckles, at which time he was placed under arrest for the Class A misdemeanor charge.

The male subject - Adam P. Zuber, 20 of Olney -  was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was charged, processed and was held pending bond.

Assisting in this incident was Crawford County Deputy Troy Wolf.
