MARION CO.—A 21-year-old man has been reported drowned in an incident this afternoon at Stephen A. Forbes State Park, near Iuka.

Damon Garrison, a married young father from the Clay County area, was identified by officials this afternoon as the drowning victim.
According to sources in the area, the young man was swimming in the lake at the recreational site when he was caught in what was described as a whirlpool and couldn’t make it out.
The state park is about 15 miles northeast of Salem in Marion County.
