NATIONAL—A new report out by the Department of Defense’s Defense Science Board indicates that China has hit the United States yet again, this time with a cyber attack that has infiltrated more than two dozen top weapons systems.

Some of the systems listed include the Patriot air defense/anti-missile system, Blackhawk helicopter, V-22 Osprey, and the Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program was hacked and the technology stolen in 2007.

That attack was said to have been the Chinese.

Experts agree the Chinese hack gives the communist country the technological advantage to rapidly advance their weapons system.

“Not only can they catch up to our technology but they can design systems to defeat ours,” said one insider. “That could mean that should we go to war they could be impervious to our weapons systems.”

Some say the increased warnings from the Obama administration to the Chinese to stop their cyber attacks is in direct response to this most recent hack.

Others fear the Obama administration has become known globally as being all talk and therefore is not being taken seriously.

At the same time the Chinese deny orchestrating or condoning the hacking operations they have stepped up their development of conventional weapons and aerospace systems.

Only 20 years ago the Chinese Army was considered to be one of the most poorly-equipped ground forces on earth.

Last year the Chinese rolled out their first ever aircraft carrier while spending millions on short- and medium-range ballistic missiles.

“What concerns me is the extent to which China’s military modernization occurs in the absence of the kind of openness and transparency we expect,” said David Helvey, deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia.

But while Helvey seems and the Obama administration acts dumbfounded, there are those in the intelligence community who are beginning to reach out to media and confirm that the rapidity of the Chinese military advancement has a direct correlation to the cyber war being waged against a United States seemingly in denial.

And while the Chinese continue their build-up, the Obama administration issues statements including, “The United States hopes to build a more robust partnership with Beijing in order to confront common problems.”

“We are rapidly becoming a second world country technologically speaking,” said one intelligence source.

There is no indication from the Obama administration that a course correction is anywhere in the country’s near future.
