EFFINGHAM CO.— An Effingham woman was transported to an area hospital following a single-vehicle accident in Effingham County.

According to authorities, on Thursday (January 5) at approximately 7:10 a.m. Casey W. Holle, 20, of Effingham, was driving a white, 2007 Ford F250 on Fayette Avenue, in Effingham when she merged onto I-57 Northbound from Fayette Ave. (Exit 159).

Holle was in the right lane and was being passed by an unknown truck tractor-semi trailer which was in the lane to the left of Holle.

Police say a second unknown truck tractor-semi trailer was in the right lane behind and catching up to Holle.

When the truck tractor-semi trailer on the left had passed Holle, she changed lanes to the left to get out of the way of the truck tractor-semi trailer catching up to her.

As she changed lanes, she lost control on the snowy roadway and skidded to the left.

The front of Holle’s pickup struck the concrete median barrier disabling her truck.

The F250 came to rest partly on the left shoulder and partly in the left lane of I-57 northbound.

Holle was transported to the St. Anthony Emergency Room by the Effingham Ambulance Service for treatment of her injuries.
