WHITE CO., Ill. - What appears to have been an intentional act to kill a family pet is being investigated in White County, and authorities are looking for the suspect.
White County Sheriff's reports indicate that on Christmas morning (Sunday, December 25) at approximately 10:11 a.m., deputy Randy Graves spoke with a woman who called in to the department, Dawn Frick of Crossville.
Frick, 31, described what had just happened: That her two children, ages 10 and 6, were riding their bikes outside and their cat was with them as they were playing.
A blue truck approached the children and swerved to run over the cat.
The man driving the truck then turned around and drove back by after having run over the cat, which died as a result of its injuries.
The truck is described as blue in color with "4X4" on the bed.
Frick said she would call the sheriff's department if she sees the truck again and can give a better description; however, if you know who might've been this sick as to have done such a thing, feel free to contact the sheriff's office at 618-384-3312.
