CRAWFORD CO.—We have confirmed reports through Crawford County Coroner Earl Deckard this morning that Mike Stifle, 66, has been reported dead in his Robinson home.

Mike Stifle was the uncle of local notorious figure, Jody Stifle, who will be the subject of a large article in the April/May edition of Disclosure, this dedicated to the dismissal of his charges of kicking Harley Walters-Johnson in the head last September…then subsequent refiling of charges, this after a community effort to complain about the dismissing prosecutor, David ‘Rollover’ Rands, lead to the appointment of Springfield pit bull prosecutor Ed Parkinson to the case.

Deckard confirmed this morning that Robinson dispatch received a call last night (Friday, April 5, 2013) at approximately 9:53 p.m., from Clark County indicating that Justin Stifle (Jody Stifle’s brother) called them and said Brianna Stifle (Jody Stifle’s daughter) reported that she believed Mike Stifle was deceased at his residence at 704 S. Howard St., in Robinson.

Coroner Deckard was reported to be on scene at that residence, as shown in the below photo. He confirmed this morning that Stifle died of natural causes, as his health had been bad in recent years after a 2007 explosion at a Robinson apartment complex nearly killed him. The explosion resulted in a federal lawsuit and a large settlement for Stifle…which his family, not known as the best of Crawford County society, immediately began taking advantage of. This money was said to have been the impetus for the reticence in charging—or following through with charges—of the wrongdoings of the various errant Stifle crew. What’s going to happen now will be a matter of probate, as many of the Stifle crew have gotten used to the largesse of Mike’s money, especially where it came to producing bond on many occasions.
