HARRISBURG—The now-infamous Poor Boys has reached a new level of ignominy with not only an alleged beating over the weekend, but a “former” owner who has had a ‘mishap’ of his own.
Information we’ve gathered about an incident that occurred this past Tuesday evening at about 9:50 indicates that a man, by the last name of Grathler, arrived at Harrisburg Medical Center with a head injury. He stated that he’d been “beat up at Poor Boys.” Police were on the way shortly thereafter to take a statement from Grathler and a woman who was with him (when he sobered up), after which they indicated that they would be traveling to the beleaguered bar to “watch the video.”
We don’t know if the video turned up anything; Poor Boys “owner” Sheila Harmon told authorities that whatever happened to Grathler, it didn’t happen on her property.
However, lots of people are now wondering if there’s a video of an earlier incident at PBs.
While we’ve not been fully advised of exactly when it happened, we HAVE had independent confirmation that “former” owner Crazy Jim Watson himself sustained an injury at Poor Boys.
Our sources advise that Crazy Jim was seen at the ER at Harrisburg’s hospital, and “it looked like he had been beaten up really bad.”
In attendance with him at the hospital was none other than Robert “ChickenBob” Wilson, local attorney/former mayor/former city attorney/owner of lots of enterprises…including, we’re told, Poor Boys.
Also in attendance, we’re being told, were two undercover cops. We’re working on learning their identities.
The story, coming from Harmon, was that Crazy fell on his face in the parking lot of the bar. Some people are trying to say that Crazy fell off a barstool, but those who know him well are telling us that that’s crap; they’ve seen him plastered “many times” and they all attest to his ability to get around okay under the influence.
So what happened? We don’t know. It’s not been verified that Mr. Grathler was actually beat up at PBs. It’s not been verified HOW Crazy Jim got all his injuries, which hurt him so bad that he had to go to the ER. While there have been a lot of things happen at PBs, these two may not be among that number. Is it that the place has now become kind of a “catch-all” for people who have been beaten up to blame? If so, let’s face it…that’s crap. It’s one thing if it happened there. It’s quite another if people are now dumping on the place. That’d be a turn of events in the general sentiment, we know…but things happen. We’ll see how it shakes out.
