HARDIN CO.—A woman well-known for her hellraising in Hardin County finally went a little over the top last week and wound up in the hoosegow downstate, in Massac County.
According to unofficial reports, Martina R. Shore-Reeves, 30 (CORRECTED), was housed in Massac County after an arrest late last Wednesday night that involved her allegedly attempting to slit someone’s throat.
We’ve confirmed who she was trying to ventilate: Layla Heinz, who had been staying at Shore’s residence for a couple of days, which unfortunate situation resulted in her arresting (and presumably formal) charges of Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery, and Disorderly Conduct. All of this, we’ve been told, occurred in front of Shore’s two children, ages 2 and 5.
Shore has a long and somewhat frightening criminal history in Hardin, which emerged on our watch while there wasn’t really any law to be had there, as evidenced by the incident last summer (during which Joyce Cullison was sheriff, and Elizabethtown officials were also in a state of flux) during which it was reported to us by multiple sources—but NOT confirmed by officials—that Shore, along with another girl, was involved in the beating of Norma Jean Cox last July.
