Chief STD, back in his zombie days…he’s chunked up a lil since then….& we STILL don’t know what that thing is hanging behind his head.
ELDORADO—Seems like ‘rado officers have a jinx attached to their service to the city, and people are wondering if it isn’t associated with their errant chief, STD (Shannon Todd Deuel).
Eldorado officers keep getting injured on the job, and the latest is the unfortunate Jerod Gott, who, according to Chief Disease himself, was on a “man with a gun” call Sunday night with Deuel and another officer, Adam Stanley, and while Gott was attempting to get to the back of the house where the suspect reportedly was, Gott slipped on ice and broke his leg in two places.
Gott, Deuel said, was sent to Deaconess in Evansville for surgery on the badly broken leg.
This information came from Freeman STD himself, although not in such clean prose (Deuel wrote “trying to get too the back of the home” and spelled Deaconess “Deconess,” but hey, we’re used to wading through his police reports at the courthouse, so no prob.
Thanks, chief, for the info! 
And we hope Officer Gott heals quickly.
UPDATE:
We just learned that Gott (whose name we didn’t recognize, because he’s so new), hadn’t yet been sent to the academy. Now it’s unclear if he will be. However, good old Chief Disease WAS allowing Gott to patrol alone…something that’s a big no-no…so if any of you are concerned about that there in ‘rado, be sure to take that up with the city council next time they meet.
