SALINE CO.—Sources in Carrier Mills have confirmed tonight earlier reports of the death of an infant in Carrier Mills.
The baby is a four-month-old boy, who was found unresponsive by his parents around 9 a.m. this morning, December 31, 2012. Officials responded to the scene in the 300 block of East Walnut but there was nothing they could do.
We have the baby’s name but it’s being held pending official confirmation of it by the coroner; however, we’ve been told there will be an autopsy tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and it will probably not be publicly released until that time.
Our sources have indicated that this was totally unexpected, as are sudden infant deaths, and that the family is having a hard time with the tragedy. Please keep them in your prayers this New Year’s Eve.
