WHITE CO.—A man found hanged this morning at Carmi post office has been publicly identified as Jeffrey Woodham, 59, of Carmi.
Woodham was the husband of Sheryl Woodham, of the Guardian Center, a local “child advocacy” facility.
According to published reports, a postal worker going to work around 5:30 this morning discovered the body of the man, who is of a well-known family in the White County area.
It’s being reported that the man tied a rope to a handrail that surrounds a set of stairs leading to a basement door on the south side of the post office, with the rope being visible from the street.
More as we get it. Our sympathies to the family.
