WILLIAMSON CO., Ill.—A White County man was arrested this weekend in the village of Creal Springs in Williamson County, and charged with a serious sex crime against a juvenile.
Roman D. Yates, 32, of Norris City, was arrested Saturday, December 6, 2014, on a charge of Criminal Sexual Assault on a female juvenile, age 16. He is reported to have met the alleged victim on a popular social media site (authorities are declining to say which one).
Yates is being held at the Williamson County Jail on a $40,000 bond, according to Creal Springs Chief of Police Nicholas Rider.
The investigation is ongoing; we’ll try to get more on it for the next issue, on stands Dec. 31.
