ONE HELD ON MAKING TERRORIST THREATS OVER COURTHOUSE BOMB SCARE

SALINE/WHITE COs., Ill.—A Saline County man is being held on making terrorist threats.

Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 7:36 am on this morning (Friday, November 21, 2014).

The caller reported a bomb threat to both the Saline and White County courthouses.

The Saline County Courthouse was evacuated of a few employees, as the threat was received prior to normal public hour operations. A search of the Saline County Courthouse was performed and no device was located. The Saline County Courthouse was reopened to the public at 9:30 a.m. this morning.

An alleged suspect was identified and is being held in the Saline County Detention Center.

Tevin J. Tate, 22, of Carrier Mills is being held on the following charges: Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Cannabis; and Falsely Making A Terrorist Threat.

The case is still under investigation and more charges are pending. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Harrisburg Police Department, Illinois State Police, Harrisburg FireDepartment, Carrier Mills Police Department, Secretary of State Bomb Squad and the FBI.
