SALINE CO., Ill.— The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bomb threat made to the Saline County Courthouse, Thursday morning.
Johnson County E-911 received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 7:29 am, reporting a threat, the call was attempted to be transferred to Saline County E-911 and the call was lost.
The threat was made prior to the normal operational hours of the Saline County Courthouse, andthe few employees in the building, were asked to leave. The bomb squad from the Secretary of State Police, along with the Saline County Sheriff’s deputies searched the building and deemed that the building was secure. Office holders were allowed back into the building at approximately 8:45 a.m.
The Harrisburg Police Department, Harrisburg Fire Department, Illinois State Police and the Secretary of State Police all assisted with the call. The case is still being investigated.
