Illinois has a new governor.
Pat Quinn, in since Rod Blagojevich was ousted in 2009, has, with some of his ridiculous policies and taxes, helped further decimate the state of Illinois, and the people couldn’t take it any more.
As of midnight, with 97 percent of precincts reporting, Bruce Rauner, Republican who has been the subject of lame political attacks for the past several weeks, has taken the office of governor with 1,715,795 votes statewide, compared to Quinn’s 1,536,829 (51 to 46 percent).
Whether Rauner will be an improvement over Quinn remains to be seen, but it sure can’t be worse.
The race attracted national attention, as Illinois is the poster child for everything that’s wrong with Democrat party politics.
More on the election tomorrow; be checking back.
