HARDIN CO., Ill.—A traffic crash this morning on Highway 146 involves a fatality.
While the name of the deceased has yet to be officially confirmed, we understand that the driver of the vehicle that crashed is a young man from around the Cave-in-Rock area. We have a name but are holding it awaiting official confirmation.
The wreck reportedly involved a truck that went off 146 approximately 1.5 miles west of Highway 34 at the south intersection in Hardin. Authorities were summoned 4:30-5:00 a.m.
IF the name we’ve received is correct, this fatality may fall squarely into the lap of the county’s prosecutor, Tara Wallace, as she has been refusing to prosecute traffic stops and arrests made by a particular Hardin deputy, Shawn Turner. Turner made a DUI arrest of this young man recently, and a blood draw was taken. However, Wallace continued to make the excuse that she wasn’t prosecuting because the labs weren’t back on the blood draw, this to cover for the fact that despite it being a more serious ticket than just speeding, she wasn’t going to prosecute because it was Turner’s arrest. What her problem with Turner is, specifically, remains unknown. However, Disclosure has been following this anomaly for several months, and it is a real phenomenon.
More on the wreck as we get it, including confirmation on the name. Check back frequently.
