All three of the current candidates (from the Democratic, Republican and Libertarian parties) have responded to our six short essay questions. The questionnaire focuses primarily on an array of timely reform issues.

Democratic candidate and current Gov. Pat Quinn and Republican nominee Bruce Rauner also each responded to a primary election candidate questionnaire in February. (You can see those responses by clicking on the blue highlighted names in the previous sentence. Libertarian candidate Chad Grimm had not announced his candidacy for governor then.)

Reboot Illinois is a non-partisan digital and social media firm providing information and online tools designed to raise awareness and citizen involvement in key issues including the state’s economic environment, jobs climate, corruption, education and politics.

The BGA is a non-partisan and non-profit government watchdog organization that seeks to hold public officials accountable through investigative reporting. Another major aspect of the BGA’s mission is encouraging openness, debate and discussion of major issues through policy advocacy and community engagement.

Neither organization endorses political candidates.

By responding to the 2014 BGA/Reboot Illinois Governor Questionnaire, the candidates contribute to a robust exchange of ideas about the important challenges Illinoisans must face. We hope our questionnaire helps you make a more informed choice for governor.

The BGA and Reboot Illinois have not edited the candidates’ responses. They are published exactly as they were submitted.
