He’s a school superintendent, of course!
Yes, the Edgar County Watchdogs (now known as Illinois Leaks) have once again turned up information about those on the taxpayer teat who apparently are able to keep their indiscretions under wraps in order to preserve a job within the system.
In order to not give too much of it away, we’ll just launch right into your late afternoon Read the Lead, School board hires drunk driver as superintendent:

EFFINGHAM CO.— At a time when public school officials have ramped up their rhetoric about making schools more safe and adding security cameras and locking nearly every door from outsiders, Illinois Leaks, formerly the Edgar County Watchdogs, have uncovered an unsavory character within not just the school, but its administration.
The board recently inked a five-year contract with Mark E. Doan, 48.
Not only was Doan the centerpiece of an effort to keep Illinois Leaks from speaking at one of their public meetings recently, that is until Illinois Leaks proved legally he just needed to sit down and shut up, but now it seems Mr. Doan’s character has more than come into question.
Sources indicate the contract was signed without a criminal background check being completed on Doan, and Illinois Leaks may have discovered why.
According to authorities, Doan was arrested on or about September 27, 2005 and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
While board members have remained mute on the issue, it should be made clear that, as per the terms of the contract (a copy of which Disclosure has obtained through Illinois Leaks, who obtained it via Freedom of Information Act), Doan may be terminated if an investigation does uncovered an issue that violates the “District’s Administrative Code of Ethics.”
Under the contract’s Clause for Discharge, it states that Doan can be terminated….
